Residency TRANSAT[Contamine] > TRAME01 Print E-mail

Guillaume Bourassa & Francis Théberge

From 18th to 24th october

The Society for Arts and Technology (Montreal) and Transcultures are significant international structures for media arts. They both aim to work on today's interdisciplinarity, with artists or researchers and to open "media" arts to a wide audience through events and festivals. They are also willing to develop partnerships with cultural organizations to lead prospective projects. Furthermore they share a "culture of exchange", with "positive contamination" enabling the circulation of skills, artistic and critical approaches. The association of these two organizations aims to allow researchers and artists from Quebec and French community of Belgium to collaborate on residencies and performance projects.

Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes Print E-mail

The Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes launched the residency program  "map 2008-2009" now extended to December 2010 under the name "map extension 2009-2010 : rencontrer l’autre et produire ensemble". The project aims to develop artist residencies in Europe and to support young artists professionalisation (18 to 35 years old).

In collaboration with the city of Mons, Transcultures is the new coordinator for the French community of Belgium and calls for proposals regarding interdisciplinary, sound  and digital projects in the frame of this residency program. One artist will be selected by a professional jury, beginning of November, and offered a 3 months residency in Mons at Le Frigo, during 2010. He/she will be on a monthly grant and receive artistic support as well as technical equipment.
