Production & diffusionTranscultures has supported Belgian and international artists, produced a large number of interdisciplinary, electronic & sound art works and organized international art festivals and special events. Transcultures also sends abroad its productions and supported artists in relation with other music / sound / digital arts festivals, organizations and networks. Sound & digital emergencesAside from its initiatives to raise public awareness about electronic and sound arts, Transcultures supports young talents and artists from Belgian and European Art Schools whose works are then presented in City Sonics, Les Transnumériques and associated festivals. Residencies & workshopsOn a regular basis, Transcultures welcomes artists for residencies in collaboration with local, French community, European and International partners. Think tank & publicationsWilling to develop a theoretical approach, Transcultures brings up reflection on various issues related to interdisciplinary, contemporary, sound and media creation. Giving lectures, workshops and participating in debates, think tanks...transcultures also publishes books, DVDs, CDs, website on these specific topics. City Sonics & Les TransnumériquesTranscultures is now running two international festivals: started in 2003, City Sonics is a sound art festival dedicated to the sound diversity through urban space and Les Transnumériques, existing since 2005, which are a platform for electronic and digital arts, broadcasting emergent or reknowned artists, and linking various Belgian and French cultural structures. |


Transcultures, Interdisciplinary Center for Sound and Electronic Cultures (Artistic Director: Philippe Franck) is an association born in 1996 in order to promote and develop crossings between contemporary artistic practices and arts/society/technology stakes; focusing in particular on sound art and digital creation. Since 2008, Transcultures is settled in Mons (Belgium) and through its new interdisciplinary center, is working on production, mediation and reflection regarding electronic and sound projects.
